Maintenance Buyer

Job Description

The role of Maintenance Buyer, you will maintain the purchasing functions for stock, non-stock, consumable, and specialized parts for the Maintenance department. You will be responsible for purchasing all CAPEX and other manufacturing -related purchasing, as well as maintaining minimum stock levels and inventory in the storeroom. 

You will play a vital role in the maintenance team mainly for purchasing and inventory activity. You will be responsible for purchasing materials according to required technical specification, price, delivery schedule and terms while ensuring purchasing activities align with global procurement policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Obtaining quotes and ordering all parts and materials for maintenance department;
  • Issue PO’s in SAP for all purchases activity;
  • Aid in cost control by compiling maintenance management costs, adhering to competitive bidding practices, and identifying opportunities for parts standardization;
  • Develop and manager relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiate price and terms, optimize purchases based on service, lead time, cost. Provide feedback to vendors as appropriate;
  • Report on storeroom metrics including out of stock, over-max, inventory accuracy, etc.
  • Process all invoices through procurement system to ensure proper payment to suppliers in a timely manner;
  • Capax Project & CER preparation.
  • Expenses monitoring including date extract. MB51 based GRN vs IW38
  • Track and report accruals;
  • Act as a liaison for any accounting work that is needed;
  • Create new vendors and contractors for invoicing in SAP;
  • Assist in inventory control to minimize obsolete stocks and over-purchase of materials;
  • Full interaction with Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Manager, and Maintenance Supervisors to ensure budgetary compliance and cost control;
  • Any other duties as assigned by superior/management from time to time.

Qualifications

Here's what we're looking for: 

  • Academic Program: Bachelor degree (preferably Masters degree) in Engineering, Business Administration/Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
  • Experienced: A minimum of 5 years of working experience in Sourcing/Purchasing/Inventory/Material & Warehouse Management or equivalent
  • Skillset: Knowledge of maintenance pats including rotating equipment, instrumentation and SAP preferred.
  • Personal traits: You have a structured approach, a driven and energetic personality, excellent communication and people skills, and the ability to work both in a team and independently.
